During September 15 – October 15, 2021, COERR Kanchanaburi organized the Waste Management through 3R’ (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) to youth in Tham Hin temporary shelter. The aim was to raise awareness of children and youth in problems caused by improper waste management, that result in community’s unhygienic condition to life and people’s unhealthiness.
The goal was to have participants understand the problems and learn how to solve sustainable environment problems. One of the efforts was to have them learn to separate waste and make use of recycled materials.
The benefit of this activity was that youth learned the waste management through 3R: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. A competition was held to have children and youth make invention from recycled materials.
The activity has drawn children and youth’s interest in using their creative skills in transforming materials for the best result.The program has eventually enabled these young people to learn about value of recycled waste.
There were 128 young participants of 76 females and 52 males.
